Joseph's Mission

Just a little update on our son Joseph who is serving a full time mission for our church in the Denver North Mission. He reports that he is doing well and that he loves his mission. It is hard to believe that he has been gone nearly 11 months now--the time seems to fly by (for everyone except his mother)!

Here is a quote from one of his last letters. "So here's the deal--- I've never been happier in my life. I am beyond words to describe how grateful I am for my incredible family. I hope you all have a fantastic week! I'm sure that you do already but it would be amazing if we could get some special prayers for our investigators."

He sent this picture in July. Can you tell that he is NOT a country boy? I expect that by the time he gets home, he will be "a little bit country". Needless to say we are proud of him and his willingness to serve the Savior and the people of Colorado with such determination and enthusiasm!

Seattle Vacation

Shirley Ann and I came up to Seattle to visit Sam, Missy and the Kids. We are having a wonderful time. Sam, Matthew, Mark and I went to see the Mariners play the White Sox at Safeco Field in downtown Seattle on Tuesday. It is right on the Puget Sound bay and was beautiful. We visited Pike's market and downtown Seattle. We drove up to Mt. Rainier which was breathtaking! However, we never saw the mountain due to the mist and fog. What was so beautiful was the mountain in the fog and the beauty of the wild flowers and greenery.

The best part is just spending time with their family. We have loved being with the kids, they have all grown so much.
